The ministry of Dr. Leon van Rooyen has spanned more than thirty years and five continents. He has served as a missionary, pastor, teacher, evangelist, church planter, relief worker, apostolic leader, and Founding President of Global Ministries and Relief. In everything that he does, Dr. Leon promotes a love for God, a loyalty to the Church, and a passion for souls. Global Ministries and Relief (GMR) was birthed out of this vision. Through GMR, Dr. Leon and his team have:

• Held thousands of revival meetings throughout the US, Canada, and Europe
• Evangelized over three hundred villages in southern and central Africa
• Provided homes and job skills for orphans
• Planted more than forty churches
• Conducted hundreds of leadership conferences, training over ten thousand national leaders to be more effective in their work each year
• Conducted thousands of outreaches into various nations, such as Togo, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, England, South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Curacao, and others
• Engaged in medical missions, disaster relief, hunger relief, and educational programs

Much of this work has taken place in areas of conflict and political instability, often under difficult and dangerous circumstances. GMR has provided services in areas where no other humanitarian agencies were willing to go. God has blessed Dr. Leon with tremendous favor, especially in Africa, where he has established close connections to governments and tribal leaders. As a result, many doors of opportunity stand wide open for GMR to initiate projects that will help to alleviate human suffering, disease, and poverty. As these basic human needs are met, the great love of God as revealed through Jesus Christ can be made known.

Global Ministries Bible Institute:

The impact of Global Ministries and Relief is multiplied through the work of Global Ministries Bible Institute (GBI), the training arm of GMR. Through GBI, Dr. Leon has trained hundreds of thousands of leaders and lay people all over the world. Students are given a solid biblical education with an emphasis on evangelism. Every subject re-enforces Dr. Leon’s core values: a love for God, a loyalty to the Church, a passion for souls, and development of godly character. GBI offers a certificate program, a diploma program, and accredited theological degree programs. Global Ministries Bible Institute is raising up a new generation of world-changing leaders!
